Green Smoothies can pack a ton of nutrients in an easy way to consume.
The majority of these greens are packed with one or more important vitamins and minerals such as vitamin A, Calcium, B-vitamins, Iron, vitamin K, and the minerals copper, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, and zinc.
Here are some great options to include in your smoothie as well as a recipe below!
Spinach
Spinach has a light flavor, so it blends well with almost anything. Strawberries, blueberries, apples, and pears pair well because they're low in sugar.
Kale
Best blended with sweet fruits, like mangoes and bananas.
Romaine
This leaf is also light and doesn't have much of a taste so it blends well with any fruit or other green.
Arugula
Arugula tends to be more bitter so it pairs well with citrus and sweeter fruits such as strawberries, bananas, pineapple and pears.
Swiss Chard
This green has a similar flavor profile to spinach so it is best paired with flavorful fruits like banana, pineapple, and citrus.
Beet Greens
Very similar to Swiss chard and spinach as far as flavor profile goes, it pairs well with almost anything and goes really well with banana, pineapple, and citrus or any berry low in sugar.
Dandelion Greens
Great for the liver and a natural anti-inflammatory, these bitter greens can be paired with sweeter fruits like bananas and strawberries.
Amazing Grass Green Superfood or ORAC Superfood
