What a busy year it’s been right?! I can't believe we're 4 months away from the New Year!
It can be so hard to comb through and pluck out time for ourselves among all of th1e life and schedule changes. But eventually, we have to slow down before our bodies make us.
I challenge you to redefine how you prioritize yourself this weekend and give a new meaning to self-care! And let's not stop here, let’s strive to make this a habit.
Below, I’ve included 4 small, but powerful habits to choose from using my F.U.R.R method.
Action: Implement one of these habits this weekend or even extend it throughout the week. You deserve it.
Remember, prioritizing yourself for a few minutes each day, isn’t self-ish, but self-care. Taking that time allows you to unplug, fuel, recharge, or rest. This can boost the immune system, reduce stress, and provide mental clarity.
The F.U.R.R. Method
(Doesn't "furr" just give you cute, fuzzy puppy vibes?)
#1 Fuel to Nourish
Fuel. Eat a balanced meal this weekend, free from fried food and full of nourishing, body-loving nutrients. A balanced meal consists of protein, fat, fiber, and greens. Here are a few ideas for foods to pair and add!
#2 Unplug
Unplug. Have 10 minutes outside to yourself disconnected from your phone and tv. If you find that you're thinking about the many things that could be getting done and meditating isn't your thing, take this time to think about what you're grateful for and why.
#3 Recharge
Recharge. Take a relaxing bath with Epsom salt or soak your feet in Epsom salt. Epsom salt is made of magnesium salts. Magnesium plays a role in over 200+ processes in the body and this type naturally relaxes muscles and helps with headaches/migraines. Or maybe your version of recharging is dancing to your favorite music. Do what gives you energy!
#4 Rest
Rest. Wind down, put aside your electronics, and go to bed earlier, and get an extra hour of sleep. Our major organs digest and detox while we rest, and it's important to allow your body the proper environment to rest. Try relaxing with chamomile, lemon balm, or turmeric tea.
